Tajikistan is studying the experiences of other countries in order to make a decision regarding its potential membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as stated by authorities in Dushanbe since the establishment of the EAEU.

Tajikistan is paying special attention to the analysis of the circumstances of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan's entry into the organization, said Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, Sputnik reports.

"These countries have similar economic indicators to Tajikistan," the minister explained.

Tajikistan's authorities continue to assess the pros and cons of joining the EAEU, emphasized Mukhriddin.

"The decision to join the Eurasian Economic Union will be made with the utmost consideration," he concluded.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan for the EAEU, Ashurboi Solehzoda, stated that the EAEU countries are Tajikistan's main trading partners.

Over 40% of Tajikistan's trade turnover is with the EAEU countries.

Tajikistan has been considering the feasibility of joining the EAEU since 2015. Kyrgyzstan and Armenia became full-fledged members of the EAEU in 2015.
