A major project titled “Strategy for the Development of the Electric Power Sector of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) until 2050” was presented in Dushanbe, Orient.tm reports.
The event was held at the Dushanbe Serena Hotel and gathered representatives of relevant ministries, the leadership of Pamir Energy JSC, experts, and development partners, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma emphasized that the new strategy will serve as a roadmap for modernizing the region’s energy system. According to him, the document aims to strengthen grid reliability, introduce modern management methods, and expand the use of local renewable energy sources.
During the presentation, organizers spoke about the history and activities of Pamir Energy JSC, highlighting the company’s key role in supplying electricity to the population and socio-economic sectors of GBAO. Participants were also presented with an overview of the strategy, including priority development areas, long-term goals, and plans for implementing infrastructure projects.
It was noted that the adopted Strategy will become the main guiding document for the region’s energy development in the coming decades.
