Practical work on implementing the Afghan section of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project has begun in Afghanistan, reports Ariana News.

Technical equipment necessary for the project has been delivered to the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan border region, where on-ground work is underway. A significant number of people are involved in various stages of the project's implementation, with the first phase expected to be completed within the next two years.

Upon completion, the TAPI project is projected to create 12,000 jobs for Afghan citizens. Additionally, Afghanistan's annual revenue from the project is estimated to reach approximately $1 billion.

The TAPI gas pipeline is a major regional infrastructure initiative, stretching 1,821 kilometers with an intended capacity of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
