The volume of trade with Russia became the largest for Tajikistan in the first half of 2024 compared to other countries, Sputnik reports.
The trade indicator increased by 14.1% compared to the same period last year and reached $968.5 million. This is evidenced by data from the Statistics Agency of Tajikistan.
Thus, imports from Russia amounted to $909.9 million, exports to Russia - $58.6 million.
Russia became the main import partner, supplying 26.6% of all goods imported into Tajikistan from abroad in this period.
At the same time, Tajikistan supplies Russia mainly with agricultural products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as nuts, dried apricots and raisins.
China was in second place in terms of trade volume with Tajikistan - trade turnover amounted to $877.5 million, jumping by 24.6% compared to the six months of 2023.
Kazakhstan was in third position - trade turnover with Tajikistan in January - June 2024 amounted to $668.9 million, the figures increased by 19.5%.
Among the CIS countries, the greatest increase in trade turnover in the first half of the year was observed with Armenia and Belarus.
