Achieving a reasonable balance between industrial activity and environmental protection, ensuring ecological safety, is one of the priority tasks of Turkmenistan's international cooperation, said the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking in Beijing at the high-level conference on interconnectedness within the framework of the Third Belt and Road International Forum, Orient.tm reports.

This is the basis of our understanding of the "Green" Silk Road, stated Berdimuhamedov. He also noted that Turkmenistan's proposal for the establishment of a Regional Center for Climate Change-Related Technologies is a logical and timely step. Ashgabat is ready to provide all the necessary technical and organizational conditions for the Center's operations.

An integral part of Turkmenistan's environmental strategy is the reduction and elimination of the negative effects of carbon dioxide and methane emissions into the atmosphere. This primarily involves the phased transition to the introduction and use of modern, environmentally friendly, and resource-saving technologies, especially in the energy, industrial, and transport sectors, Berdimuhamedov explained.

Ashgabat is also actively involved in international cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy. "We consider these steps by Turkmenistan to be an important practical contribution to the creation of 'green corridors' for cooperation, including within the frameworks of the 'Revival of the Great Silk Road' and 'Belt and Road' strategies," TDH news agency quotes the Chairman of Turkmenistan's Halk Maslahaty.

In Berdimuhamedov's opinion, economic interconnectedness, international technology exchange, experience sharing, skills, and methodologies are objective global development trends. They imply closer cooperation in production, the creation of integrated technological and digital platforms, and communication systems.

All of this is meant to shape a comprehensive and sustainable cooperation logistics on a global scale, and not just in technical terms.

"Today, in our view, the concept of political logistics is in demand. I see it as a multi-level system of interaction between states that share economic development and cooperation perspectives, free from politicization and ideological clichés, based on equality, mutual respect, and taking each other's interests into account," said the Chairman of Turkmenistan's Halk Maslahaty.
