Turkmenistan and China Discussed Expanding Partnership in the Energy Sector

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met in New York with Wang Yi, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and Chinese Foreign Minister, Turkmenportal.com reports.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in the gas industry, during the talks. The sides discussed the further advancement of joint projects and the expansion of long-term partnerships.

Prospects for cooperation in trade, economic, innovation, technology, and cultural and humanitarian areas were discussed.

The highly effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and China within the UN was particularly emphasized. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen coordination at international forums and mutually support the initiatives and proposals of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, they reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing close cooperation to practically implement the agreements reached and further strengthen their strategic partnership, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
