Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan strengthening economic cooperation

In Tashkent, the fourth meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Council took place. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while the Uzbek side was represented by Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the productive meeting, the parties conducted a comprehensive analysis of the trade and economic opportunities between the two countries. Special attention was given to the prospects for further expanding bilateral partnership in several key sectors.

The participants extensively discussed the potential for cooperation in energy, transportation, logistics, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

An important outcome of the meeting was the discussion of plans to enhance contacts between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
