Turkmenistan discussed its position with CIS countries at upcoming UN General Assembly

Representatives of Turkmenistan participated in discussions with their colleagues from the CIS on the coordination of the positions of Commonwealth member states at the upcoming 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the organization's executive committee press service reports.

Delegates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and other CIS countries discussed the priorities of CIS member states as well as the activities of the General Assembly in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the importance of supporting each other's candidacies for limited membership UN bodies.

All sides also noted the usefulness and readiness to continue holding similar inter-ministerial consultations on this topic.

Turkmenistan will put forward key initiatives on ensuring global security and deepening its interaction with this global structure at the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly.
