ASHGABAT - Turkmenistan's Ministry of Communications held a series of talks in Ashgabat with representatives of leading Chinese technology companies on expanding cooperation in digital technology and telecommunications, Turkmenportal.com reports.
Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Annayev and Minister of Communications Khadzhymyrat Khudaygulyev participated in the meetings.
The parties discussed prospects for joint projects, including the creation of research centers in artificial intelligence, the implementation of Internet of Things solutions, the development of the "smart city" concept, and cooperation in neural network and quantum technologies.
According to the Minister of Communications, Turkmenistan views artificial intelligence as a strategic area for infrastructure development and an important tool for improving the efficiency of public administration, medicine, education, and other sectors of the economy.
Representatives of Huawei, ZTE, and several other Chinese companies participated in the talks.
