Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volumes of natural gas and electricity supplied to the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC), taking into account the current and future capacities of the country, stated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the 16th summit of OEC leaders held in Tashkent, Orient.tm reports.

The fact that global energy markets are generally unstable is one of the main challenges for developing an effective OEC cooperation model, said Berdimuhamedov.

He reminded that Turkmenistan has proposed a number of major energy projects, in which some OEC countries are also participating. Berdimuhamedov also invited partner countries to expand joint cooperation in the energy sector with the aim of creating an energy supply system that includes the OEC space.

"On our part, I can say that Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volumes of natural gas and electricity supplies to OEC countries through existing capacities and those that will be built in the future," stated Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Berdimuhamedov raised the issue of creating common transport and logistics centers between OEC countries and noted that one of the priority directions for future discussion is the establishment of multimodal freight transportation from China through Central Asia with access to the ports of the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Black Sea.

The President of Turkmenistan also proposed creating an information portal that includes specific information, proposals, business projects, and other necessary information for broader awareness of the opportunities and intentions of countries regarding the expansion of multilateral cooperation.
