Turkmenistan’s Customs Service has demonstrated the highest efficiency in Central Asia, strengthening its role as a key link in international transport logistics. According to research conducted by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the country records the lowest export and transit times and costs in the region, Orient.tm reports.

Record Processing Speed

The analysis, covering the period from August to October 2025, found that customs checkpoints in Garabogaz, Farab, and Dashoguz process transit and export vehicles in an average of just 37 minutes.

This is the fastest result in Central Asia. For comparison:
– Kazakhstan averages 1 hour 30 minutes,
– Uzbekistan 1 hour 10 minutes,
– Tajikistan 1 hour 40 minutes,
– Kyrgyzstan 1 hour 44 minutes.

Minimal Waiting Times

Queue analysis also confirms the efficiency of Turkmen checkpoints. The average waiting time at Turkmenistan’s customs points is up to 35 minutes.

The contrast with neighboring states is striking:
– Kyrgyzstan: 40 minutes,
– Tajikistan: 1 hour 15 minutes,
– Uzbekistan: 12 hours 20 minutes,
– Kazakhstan: over 48 hours, the longest in the region.

These figures highlight Turkmenistan’s growing importance as a reliable transit bridge between Asia and Europe. The government continues to expand customs infrastructure, implement “green corridors,” and introduce digital solutions to ensure coherent and efficient border control.
