Uzbekistan and EU speed up signing of expanded partnership agreement

Negotiations were held in Tashkent between the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Teri Hakala, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum, informs Nova24.uz..

During the talks, the parties summed up the results of bilateral and interregional events held in 2022, and also considered prospects for further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU.

The parties confirmed their readiness to make joint efforts for the soonest signing of an agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, the report said.

Earlier, the business circles of Uzbekistan and the European Union discussed the future of the economy. The parties noted the role of the EU in assisting the republic's accession to the WTO.
