The United States reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening military cooperation with Uzbekistan, as well as developing professional training for the country's military personnel. The US Department noted that it views cooperation with Tashkent as a long-term and successful defense partnership, according to a report by UzDaily.uz, but did not specify the time of the meeting between representatives of the Uzbek and US military departments.

The key topic of the meeting between Major General Michael Leaney, Deputy Commander of the US Central Command, and representatives of the National Guard of Uzbekistan in Tashkent was deepening bilateral relations and expanding practical cooperation.

Following the talks, the parties reaffirmed the strategic nature of the partnership and outlined a transition to more systematic cooperation planning. Particular attention was paid to agreeing on an interaction plan for 2026–2027, reflecting the parties' commitment to long-term defense coordination.

The training and professional development of Uzbek military personnel remains a separate priority. In this context, the International Defense Education and Training (IMET) program, which promotes the implementation of international military training standards and the development of professional competencies, is being expanded.

Thus, the agreements reached confirm the trend toward deepening US-Uzbek defense cooperation based on long-term planning, institutional interaction, and strengthening human resources, which both sides view as an important factor in regional stability.
