Uzbekistan imported natural gas from Turkmenistan in the period January-November 2022 in the amount of $1.03 billion, the press service of Türkmengaz reports.
Gas worth more than $1 billion from Turkmenistan is supplied to five countries of the world. Turkmenistan supplied the most gas to China — $9.28 billion. Russia is in second place ($3.5 billion), Myanmar is third ($1.29 billion), Uzbekistan is fourth ($1.03 billion) and Kazakhstan is fifth ($1 billion).
Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan named those responsible for the lack of electricity and gas among Uzbeks. In early December, Uzbekistan's energy system went through a critical period when extreme cold set in. The President of Uzbekistan has set the task of bringing the country out of the energy crisis by acquiring both gas and electricity from Turkmenistan.
