Uzbekistan has officially confirmed the birthdate of Khuwaydo Umarova (Toshmatova), a resident of the “Karakum” mahalla in Buvaydin District, Fergana Region, who was born on January 1, 1895 — making her 130 years old, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Justice, citing Gazeta.uz.

Her age was legally established during an extraordinary in-home court session held at her residence, after local justice officials discovered her birth had never been formally registered. The Kokand Interdistrict Court for Civil Cases granted the petition, officially recognizing her birthdate.

“Khuwaydo Umarova momo is now officially recognized as the oldest living woman in Uzbekistan,” the Ministry announced.

Umarova’s remarkable longevity has drawn media attention for years. In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious “Shukhrat” Medal for her contributions to society. In 2023, the Uzbekistan State News Agency (UzA) reported that the then 128-year-old cast her vote in the national referendum — a testament to her enduring vitality.

Her family has long intended to submit her case to Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest living person. Until now, the absence of a verified birthdate in her 1999-issued passport blocked that effort.

“With this legal recognition, such an application is now possible. We are following developments closely,” the Ministry of Justice stated.
