Uzbekistan signs laws on border with Kyrgyzstan and Andijan reservoir

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed laws on the ratification of an agreement between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on certain sections of the state border and an agreement on the joint management of the Andijan (Kempir-Abad) reservoir. This completes the delimitation of the border line between the two countries, Gazeta.uz reports with reference to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

The agreements were signed during a visit by an Uzbek delegation led by Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov to Bishkek on 3 November. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev signed the agreement from the Kyrgyz side. On November 14, the laws on their ratification were adopted by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, on November 18 they were approved by the Senate of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed the laws on the ratification of the two treaties on November 29.
