Tajikistan has repatriated more than 300 of its citizens from the Middle East. In the morning, a charter flight from Dubai brought 130 Tajik nationals to Dushanbe, and later, the airline Somon Air delivered an additional 180 people to the country, Asiaplus.tj reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan announced that the charter flight was organized with the assistance of Tajikistan's Embassy in the UAE, local authorities, and the airline Fly Dubai.
A second charter flight from Dubai, carrying 178 passengers—including foreign nationals—was operated by Somon Air from Al-Maktoum International Airport in Dubai.
Overall, against the backdrop of the conflict in the Middle East, approximately 550 people have returned to Tajikistan from Abu Dhabi and Dubai via charter flights operated by Somon Air and Fly Dubai.
Earlier, Tajik authorities instructed Somon Air to organize charter flights for the evacuation of fellow citizens from Middle Eastern countries.
"Citizens intending to return home may contact the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Tajikistan in the respective countries for additional information and registration," the statement reads.
