Cargo transportation from Central Asia to Russia growth rapidly

In the first quarter of 2023, cargo transportation from Uzbekistan to Russia increased by 59%. The volume of cargo transportation to Russia from Kazakhstan (triple increase) and Kyrgyzstan (doubled) increased even more significantly, the ATI.SU exchange said.

According to the exchange, in the first quarter of 2023, the number of applications for the transportation of goods from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 68%. “According to our statistics, the flow from Turkey has increased by about seven times, and the turnover with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has doubled,” said the head of the company, Marya Dey.

As Alexander Shilinchuk, deputy general director for road transport at Trasco, noted, in January-March, 50% more goods began to be imported from Uzbekistan to Russia, and 1200% more from Kazakhstan.

Earlier, WES 24 reported that the European Union suspects the countries of Central Asia in the transit of high technologies to Russia.
