Representatives of the energy and water management authorities of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan discussed in Tashkent issues of water and energy cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan informed.
Participants in the trilateral talks considered proposals for the development of the energy systems of Central Asian countries. The main focus was on the challenges posed by high loads on energy systems during the autumn-winter period, the construction of new hydroelectric power stations, and the development of the energy systems of Central Asian countries.
Decisions were made regarding mechanisms for mutual assistance in emergency situations and the formation of reserve sources.
The parties also discussed the fulfillment of mutual commitments regarding the supply of water resources and electricity for the past year.
At the next meeting, the parties will discuss the topic of hydroelectric power station construction, particularly the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
