President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov reviewed the results of cooperation and discussed future plans during negotiations in Astana, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

President Tokayev positively assessed the EDB's contribution to Kazakhstan's economy and expressed readiness to continue and expand cooperation.

In 2024, the bank invested about $1.4 billion in Kazakhstan's economy, with Kazakhstani projects accounting for nearly 60% of the EDB’s portfolio.

In 2025, it is planned to invest more than $1 billion in the modernization of energy facilities and renewable energy sources, infrastructure facilities, transport development, reconstruction of national roads, industry, and digital technologies. Projects totaling over $4.5 billion are currently under consideration.

“Nikolai Podguzov emphasized that the EDB will continue to support the development of Kazakhstan's financial market and the attraction of investments, closely cooperating with partners and multilateral organizations, including through its own international events,” the statement reads.

The EDB invests across the Eurasian space, primarily in projects with an integrational impact in the areas of transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry, and mechanical engineering. Kazakhstan became a member of the EDB in 2006.

On April 11, it became known that Uzbekistan had joined the organization.
