The ceremony for the handover of 59 containers from the United States containing transformer equipment worth $4.5 million took place in Dushanbe, the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan reports.

The event was attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, Manuel Micallef, and the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Daler Juma.

During the ceremony, it was noted that this modern equipment is intended for installation at key electrical substations and will contribute to reducing technical losses that usually occur due to overloads in transmission networks.

Ambassador Micallef emphasized during the ceremony that electric power plays a crucial role in economic development and ensuring stability.

It was also highlighted that energy not only contributes to the development of healthcare and education but also provides access to clean water and other vital resources, which are an integral part of ensuring a high quality of life in Tajikistan.
