In Uzbekistan, car production increased 1.5 times in first quarter

In the first quarter of 2024, over 91,000 passenger cars (including specialized ones) were produced in Uzbekistan, the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan reported.

This is 50.7% more than in January-March 2023 (60,414). Most of the production came from the Chevrolet Cobalt - more than 28,000 cars (+59.5%).

The production of Lacetti/Gentra decreased by 20.9%; production of this model was planned to cease in April of this year.

Production of Onix, whose serial production began in February 2023, increased from 559 to 8338 units, Tracker - from 1660 to 12205.

The output of KIA at the ADM Jizzakh plant reached 4980 (an increase of 1.5 times), Chery - 2990 (an increase of 3.5 times).

Haval production amounted to 205 units, Exeed - 38.

The production volume of specialized passenger cars increased from 6209 to 6317 units.

In 2023, UzAuto Motors took an 81% share in the automobile market of Uzbekistan with the production of 369.99 thousand cars worth $4.85 billion. ADM Jizzakh was able to get 5.5%, and the rest came from imports, including the import of 8948 BYD cars worth $291 million
