Domestic investment increased 1.5 times to 166.7 billion soms, while foreign investment more than tripled, reaching 37.6 billion soms ($430 million). The bulk of investment was concentrated in housing construction, transport infrastructure, mining, energy, education, and the manufacturing sector.

Analytical Commentary

This growth in investment confirms the continued high level of investment activity in Kyrgyzstan, which remains a key factor in the country's accelerated economic growth. The increase in investment in transport infrastructure is linked to the implementation of strategic projects, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the modernization of highways, and the development of energy infrastructure.

The significant increase in external financing indicates increased interest from international financial institutions and foreign investors in the republic's economy.

Over the past three years, investment trends have remained consistently positive. According to the National Statistical Committee, fixed capital investment totaled approximately 151 billion soms in 2023, increased to approximately 236 billion soms in 2024, and exceeded 320 billion soms in 2025, reaching a historical high.

Growth rates remain high in the first half of 2026, paving the way for a new record by the end of the year.

The predominance of investment in residential construction reflects active urban development, but the long-term impact on the economy will be determined by increased investment in industry, energy, and transport.

These sectors are poised to boost productivity, expand the country's export potential, and strengthen Kyrgyzstan's position as an important transit and manufacturing hub in Central Asia.
