Tajik-Iranian high-level talks were held in Dushanbe as part of the state visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Tajikistan. The discussions took place in a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations from both sides.
During the negotiations, a wide range of issues related to expanding cooperation in various fields - including politics, economy and trade, investment and tourism, security, science, culture, and healthcare—were discussed, according to the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
Currently, 160 companies with Iranian capital operate in Tajikistan, and in 2024, the volume of goods transported increased 3.2 times compared to the previous two years.
The two presidents exchanged views on various aspects of cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Following the talks, 23 new cooperation agreements were signed.
Among the signed documents:
- A cooperation program between the foreign ministries of both countries;
- An implementation program for cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan and Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization for developing cargo transit through Chabahar Port;
- A memorandum of cooperation in the field of national and modern handicrafts;
- An action plan for implementing the memorandum of cooperation in industry and new technologies for the period 2025-2027.
