Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed a programme of 100 joint projects for member states of the Organization of Turkic States, called “Turkic World – 100”, at the OTS summit in Ankara, reported The Times of Central Asia.

The projects would focus on processing rare and strategic minerals, making renewable energy equipment and producing higher-value goods. They would be financed through the Turkic Investment Fund and international financial institutions.

Mirziyoyev also proposed several other measures:

  • a multilateral treaty on legal assistance in commercial matters, with a digital platform for exchanging legal documents;
  • jointly managed logistics hubs along the Middle Corridor;
  • travel between member states using national ID cards instead of passports;
  • a Turkic Tourism Alliance, with Uzbekistan offering 200 scholarships a year to students from other Turkic states;
  • declaring 2027 the OTS Year of Nature Protection;
  • an “OTS Plus” format for cooperation with third countries.

The next OTS summit will be held in Uzbekistan in 2027, giving Tashkent an opportunity to start putting these proposals into practice.
