The Zhalpaktal reservoir will be built in the West Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan, which will provide water to more than 12 thousand people, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan reported.
Acting director of the local branch of Kazvodkhoz Rauan Khusainov said that the volume of the reservoir should be 28 million cubic meters. According to him, in addition to providing water to the population, the new reservoir will also expand the area of estuary irrigation by 12 thousand hectares. The result will be an increase in the yield of feed for livestock.
Khusainov noted that this year the branch of Kazvodkhoz in the West Kazakhstan region sent 562 million cubic meters of water for irrigation of estuaries and pastures. In total, water was provided to an area of 146 thousand hectares.
The head of Kazvodkhoz added that his company is also repairing 13 hydraulic structures and mechanically cleaning 67.6 km of canals. In addition, the Kirov reservoir is being reconstructed and the Shagan River and the Kushumsky main canal are being mechanized.
