Kazakhstan to take active part in restoration of Karabakh in Azerbaijan

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. They discussed matters of trade, economic, energy, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, signing several important documents, Kursiv reports.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Azerbaijan for a state visit on March 11. Subsequently, negotiations took place at President Aliyev's residence, where the heads of the states signed several documents.

Among them, an Agreement on the phased increase of transit volumes of Kazakh oil through Azerbaijani territory between KazMunayGas and Azerbaijan's state oil company was signed, which holds significance for both countries. Additionally, a Memorandum on strategic cooperation in the purchase and sale of Kazakh oil between KazMunayGas and Azerbaijan's state oil company was also signed.

Furthermore, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the inaugural meeting of the High Inter-State Council of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Tokayev congratulated Ilham Aliyev once again on his "convincing victory in the presidential elections."

"You are a universally recognized leader of the Azerbaijani people, and this is how you are perceived on the international stage. Moreover, we sincerely rejoice in Azerbaijan's historic victory and the restoration of sovereignty over its territory," stated the President of Kazakhstan.

In response, Aliyev thanked Tokayev for the "brotherly assistance in the restoration of Karabakh."

"The Kurmangazy Center for Children's Creativity in the city of Fizuli is a gift from the Kazakh people to the Azerbaijani people and is an initiative of President Tokayev. We are grateful for the words of solidarity in the restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty. And, of course, in Azerbaijan, I believe everyone knows that Kazakhstan is our reliable friend and ally," emphasized the President of Azerbaijan.

Ahead of his visit, Tokayev gave an interview to the Azerbaijani news agency APA, emphasizing that Kazakh companies are ready to participate in the "revival of Karabakh." According to him, the region's infrastructure restoration will contribute to the development of not only Azerbaijan but the entire South Caucasus.
