Kyrgyzstan overpaid duties in EAEU for first time

For the first time since joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Kyrgyzstan has transferred import customs duties in an amount exceeding that received from the member states of the union. This is reported by the portal Economist.kg.

Thus, in 2022, Kyrgyzstan transferred customs duties to the EAEU countries in the amount of 20.1 billion soms, while the country's budget received 16.25 billion soms from the member states.

The Cabinet notes that the increase in the volume of customs duties levied by the Kyrgyz Republic was influenced by the improvement in the administration of customs duties by the customs service and an increase in the volume of trade with partner countries.

Recall that before:

in 2015 (October-December) 2.96 billion soms were transferred, 3.5 billion soms were received;
in 2016, 11.97 billion soms were transferred, 13.1 billion soms received;
in 2017, 12.3 billion soms were transferred, 15.36 billion soms received;
in 2018, 15.3 billion soms were transferred, 16.2 billion soms received;
in 2019, 11.25 billion soms were transferred, 17.1 billion soms received;
in 2020, 6 billion soms were transferred, 16.8 billion soms received;
in 2021, 13 billion soms were transferred, 22 billion soms were received.
