The Kyrgyz Republic has proposed the creation of an SCO development bank as a key instrument for financing joint projects amid global trade and economic changes, Akchabar.kg reports.
This statement was made on April 10, 2025 in Tianjin (China) during the 9th meeting of the Special Working Group on Investment Promotion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States. The meeting was attended by Beketai Mukhtar, an expert from the Trade Mission under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic in China.
In his speech, he briefed his colleagues on the progress of the implementation of the program of multilateral trade and economic cooperation of the SCO states and voiced the position of the Kyrgyz side on a number of priority areas. The event discussed issues of improving the investment climate, strengthening cooperation in the field of sustainable development and the transition to settlements in national currencies, which is seen as an important step towards strengthening the economic sovereignty of the member states.
