The population of Kazakhstan has reached 20 million people, announced the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan, Vlast.kz reports.
"According to the data of the National Statistics Bureau, on November 14, 2023, the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan reached 20 million people. The 20-million citizens of the country are 5 children born at 8:10 am on November 14, 2023. They were born in the regions of Ultau, Zhetysu, Atyrau, Akmolinsk, and Turkestan. Among them are 3 boys and 2 girls," the statement said.
In 1991, the population of Kazakhstan was 16.4 million people. Over the years of independence, the country's population has grown by 22.3%. In the first nine months of 2023, the population of Kazakhstan increased by 201.2 thousand people, or 1.02%. By October 1, the population of the country reached 19,968 thousand people, and it was expected that in November, the population of Kazakhstan would exceed the mark of 20 million people.
