ASTANA - The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin, signed a Joint Statement on the "Seven Foundations of Friendship and Good-Neighborliness between the Peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia," reaffirming their commitment to further developing relations in the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, Zakon.kz reports.

The document notes that in the context of global instability, mutual respect, consideration of national interests, and equal partnership are particularly important. It emphasizes that the historical ties between the two countries and peoples form the foundation of sustainable cooperation.

The Seven Foundations of Friendship and Good-Neighborliness (in brief):

1. Shared History and Historical Memory
A shared understanding of the past, including the contribution of our peoples to Victory in World War II, the development of science and space exploration (including Baikonur), and the inadmissibility of distorting history.

2. Eurasian Integration and Security
Strengthening cooperation within the CIS, EAEU, and CSTO, and developing coordination in economics, politics, and security. 3. Common Border and Regional Cooperation
The world's longest land border is viewed as a space of trust, trade, humanitarian exchanges, and environmental cooperation.

4. Economic Partnership
Development of trade, investment, transport corridors (North-South, Russia-Kazakhstan-China routes), industrial cooperation, and settlements in national currencies.

5. Cultural and Linguistic Diversity and Values
Support for cultural heritage, multilingualism, traditional values, development of the Russian and Kazakh languages, humanitarian exchanges, and cultural diplomacy.

6. Youth, Education, and Sports
Expansion of academic exchanges, joint educational programs, scientific projects, and sports cooperation as the foundation for a long-term partnership.

7. Shared Vision of the Future
Focus on sustainable development, technological progress, environmental safety, and the further strengthening of allied relations.

The document emphasizes that the consistent development of these seven pillars is viewed by the parties as a guarantee of stability, trust, and a long-term strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The visit of president Putin to Kazakhstan has began on Mya 27 and during it he intends to take part in the Summit of the EAEU.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated on the meeting that his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, is fulfilling a crucial mission for Russia.

"You are leading the country during a complex period of total restructuring of the modern world order. With honor and dignity, you are fulfilling a mission of crucial significance for the Russian people and the Russian state," Tokayev said after talks with Putin, who is in Astana on a state visit.
