Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed bilateral relations

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the framework of the Summit of three leaders of Central Asia in the city of Ashgabat, UzA.uz reports.

During the meeting of the heads of the two neighboring states, they discussed current issues of Uzbek-Turkmen relations, which are based on deep strategic partnership and centuries-old bonds of friendship and good neighborliness between the fraternal peoples.

They expressed satisfaction with the expansion of practical cooperation in all areas.

The agreements reached at the highest level are being successfully implemented. Contacts between governments, ministries, and agencies are being maintained on a systematic basis.

Trade volumes are increasing, and mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors of the economy is expanding. The importance of launching the "Shavat-Dashoguz" joint trade zone as soon as possible was emphasized.

The significance of further advancing joint projects of cooperation, interregional exchanges, and cultural and humanitarian contacts was highlighted.

They also had a comprehensive exchange of views on regional issues.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the Summit of the Heads of State of Central Asia. Before the start of the summit, they had bilateral meetings with the President of Turkmenistan.
