In the city of Batken, southern Kyrgyzstan, on December 4, 2024, a meeting was held between the co-chairs of the governmental delegations of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border, as reported by Avesta.tj.
The negotiations involved the heads of the State Committees for National Security of both nations, Saimumin Yatimov of Tajikistan and Kamchybek Tashiev of Kyrgyzstan, according to the Tajik State Committee for National Security.
During the discussions, both sides reached agreements and fully completed the description of the remaining sections of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border. They instructed the working groups of the governmental delegations from both countries to commence preparing the final delimitation documents.
This development marks significant progress in resolving border disputes and strengthening neighborly relations between the two countries. The meeting was conducted in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
