In October 2024, Tajikistan exported electricity worth over $3.8 million, according to the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
For the first 10 months of the current year, the total volume of electricity exports from the country amounted to over $102.4 million. This figure is 3.2% or $3.4 million lower compared to the same period in 2023.
The share of electricity exports in the total value of all exported goods from January to October was 6.6%. According to the joint-stock company Barki Tojik, during the autumn-winter period, electricity is primarily supplied to Afghanistan, while the contract for supplies to Uzbekistan is only active during the summer season.
