Tajikistan signed agreements with China worth $6 bln

Investors and entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and China signed cooperation agreements totaling more than 6 billion somoni, Khovar agency reports.

The corresponding agreements were signed in Dushanbe as a result of the Tajikistan-China trade and investment forum, which was attended by more than 150 entrepreneurs and investors from both countries. The event was held in collaboration with the Tajik ministries of economic development and trade, industry and new technologies, and the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan.

"Following the conclusion of the forum, the corresponding cooperation documents were signed... amounting to more than 6 billion somoni," the report said.

Currently, 1 US dollar is officially worth 10.62 somoni.

It is specified that agreements were concluded on the construction of an iron ore enterprise at the Shahkadambuluk mine, the supply and installation of international standard structures for the construction of a 3,000-seat stadium in Dushanbe, the supply of electric vehicles for taxi services in Dushanbe, the construction of a logistics center and the "Talco Gold" metallurgical plant, and others.

Currently, 600 companies with Chinese equity capital operate in Tajikistan. Over the past 10 years, the volume of Chinese capital in the Tajik economy has amounted to more than $3.8 billion, the report said.
