President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during his visit to Japan, held a meeting with Emperor Naruhito, reports the electronic newspaper Turkmenistan.
The meeting took place at the Imperial Palace, where the two heads of state discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
According to the President of Turkmenistan, relations between the two countries have entered a new phase of development.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significant potential for expanding trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the complementary nature of the two economies.
“Japan’s advanced technologies combined with Turkmenistan’s rich natural resources create a solid foundation for mutually beneficial partnership,” the Turkmen leader stated.
He drew attention to Turkmenistan’s priority areas for modernization, including electric power, the oil and gas sector, the chemical industry, transport infrastructure, and the agro-industrial complex.
During the conversation, it was noted that Japan is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan in the field of high technology.
Both sides expressed interest in further developing cooperation in renewable energy, information technology, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Special attention was given to cultural and humanitarian interaction, which, in the shared view, remains a key component of interstate relations.
The visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan continues. A number of bilateral meetings with representatives of the Japanese government and business circles are scheduled.
