Turkmenistan and Iran ready to expand partnership in gas industry

During the 28th Iranian International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2024), Deputy Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Murad Archayev emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's cooperation with Iran in the gas industry, Orient.tm reports.

He highlighted the potential of techno-engineering services and participation in gas swaps as key areas of cooperation.

During a meeting with the Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Majid Chegeni, the head of "Turkmengas," Archayev, emphasized Iran's role in the global gas industry. He expressed interest in expanding ties with Iran through energy exchanges and the participation of Iranian companies in projects in Turkmenistan, as reported by Iran Press.

Chegeni acknowledged the longstanding partnership between Iran and Turkmenistan in the gas sector, emphasizing the mutual benefits of strengthening cooperation. He noted NIGC's capabilities in various segments of the gas industry and expressed readiness to expand partnership in gas exchange and export of technical services.

Additionally, Chegeni announced that Iran will host the ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum this year and expressed support for Turkmenistan's potential membership in this forum.

Iran Oil Show 2024 in Tehran attracted the participation of 1500 Iranian firms and 250 companies from 12 countries. The event is dedicated to the development of the oil and gas industry through the enhancement of production and technological achievements. The exhibition, which began on Wednesday, concluded on Saturday.

Iran's Minister of Oil, Javad Owji, speaking at the event, announced Iran's achievement of self-sufficiency in oil, gas, and petrochemical products through internal capabilities and highlighted the experience of Iranian specialists and contractors in exporting technical and engineering services worldwide, as reported by Iran Press.
