Turkmenistan congratulates Kazakhstan on adoption of UN Resolution on Central Asia and Afghanistan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the unanimous adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution "Regional Center of the United Nations for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan," initiated by Kazakhstan, TDH reports.

In his message, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed deep appreciation to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal contribution to strengthening friendly ties between the two states, which have reached the level of multifaceted strategic partnership.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that this Resolution opens new opportunities for regional cooperation aimed at creating a "dynamic and renewed Central Asia" and providing comprehensive support to Afghanistan. It was particularly noted that the adoption of this document took place during the International Year of Peace and Trust, proclaimed by the General Assembly at Turkmenistan’s initiative.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expressed gratitude for the support of Turkmenistan's neutral foreign policy course and its international initiatives, stressing that Turkmenistan, in turn, respects Kazakhstan's international proposals.
