"In the past five years, by utilizing advanced foreign approaches and considering the specific features of our country, we have accumulated successful experience in combating poverty, starting from the grassroots level—mahallas," stated the message from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to participants of the international conference "Global Dialogue on Multidimensional Poverty" in Tashkent and Samarkand.

President Mirziyoyev noted that "many countries around the world are showing great interest in the dialogue of authoritative experts in the hope of finding effective solutions to the most pressing issues in poverty reduction."

As a result, more than 2.3 million needy families, women, single elderly people, and persons with disabilities have been covered by guaranteed social protection, which is four times more than in 2017, the President of Uzbekistan reported.

"In the past three years, preschool education coverage has increased from 27% to 74%, and the poverty level among children has decreased from 22% to 14%," the message stated.

Mirziyoyev also announced that the country plans to continue providing large-scale support to the vulnerable segments of the population and to reduce the poverty rate to 7% over the next three years.
