Uzbekistan and China on way to joint educational projects

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Otabek Makhkamov, held negotiations with a delegation from Guangdong Province of the People's Republic of China, led by the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Zhang Shuo Fu, Uzbek media reported.

The meeting discussed issues related to promoting scientific and technological progress and mechanisms for implementing scientific developments.

The topic of cooperation with Guangdong Province was also touched upon, within the framework of which it is planned to create joint educational programs and courses for training specialists in areas such as information technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, and others.

The programs will include internships at enterprises and student exchanges between universities and colleges in Guangdong and Uzbekistan. Additionally, Chinese language courses will begin operating across the country.

Particular attention was given to the exchange of experience in vocational education, as well as the development of programs for professional development and the advancement of specialists from both countries. Internships and exchange programs for teachers and researchers at production and research institutions were proposed.

The Deputy Minister also suggested considering the possibility of establishing branches in Uzbek universities in collaboration with Chinese scientific institutions.
