Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan launched a new zonal navigation route T-916 on July 11, which will reduce flight distances by 40 km, reports Orient.tm.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the introduction of this route will also allow airlines to save 30 to 50 tons of fuel per year with daily flights. At the same time, oxygen consumption will decrease by 50-70 tons, and harmful carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 220-250 tons per year.

To meet the needs of airlines for the most efficient and shortest routes, specialists from "Uzaeronavigation" and "Kazakhstan Aeronavigation" jointly optimized the elements of the air route. Now the load on air traffic controllers will be significantly reduced.

According to forecasts, more than 30 airlines plan to operate flights on the new route daily. The first airline to test the air route was the German airline Lufthansa.

It is noted that "Uzaeronavigation" will continue active work on the implementation of new routes in cooperation with providers from neighboring countries.
