Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Interior of Afghanistan, met with Pakistan’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations and the resolution of existing challenges between the two countries, Bakhtarnews.af reports.
According to a statement released by the Afghan Ministry of Interior, the two sides engaged in talks on key issues aimed at improving ties and addressing security and political concerns. During the meeting, Sadiq Khan conveyed condolences on behalf of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his deputy, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar over the martyrdom of Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani.
Sadiq Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving existing issues through joint efforts, emphasizing that such collaboration would strengthen economic and civil relations between the two neighboring countries.
For his part, Acting Minister of Interior Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani highlighted the religious, cultural, and historical bonds shared by the two nations. He stressed the urgency of accelerating joint efforts to resolve security and political challenges.
He further mentioned that the current circumstances demand swift collaborative action to protect our nations’ ties from harm and to ensure stability and development in the region.
