At the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum in Ashgabat, the parties identified the agro-industrial complex as a promising area of cooperation, where the rational use of water resources, including transboundary resources, plays a key role, Turkmenportal reports.
Turkmenistan emphasized its commitment to promoting initiatives for comprehensive and systematic water use, taking into account the interests of all states in the region.
The Turkmen side highlighted the systematic work in the country on agricultural water supply and the implementation of water-saving technologies. Ashgabat advocated for the implementation of water cooperation with neighbors based on the principles of international law, mutual respect, equality, and transparency.
The Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, Nuruddin Azizi, emphasized that Kabul, in utilizing transboundary hydro resources, will be guided by the principles of mutual agreement and equality with neighbors, especially with Turkmenistan, maintaining friendly relations with the Afghan people.
Turkmenistan expressed readiness to expand cooperation in the agro-industrial complex and agriculture with Afghanistan, exploring new forms of partnership in this field.
