As of the end of February 2024, the total volume of gold in the assets of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 49.98 metric tons, Economist.kg reports.
The total volume of gold reserves (monetary, non-monetary, and gold reserves) in the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan as of December 31, 2023, amounted to 48.04 metric tons, which is 3.62 metric tons more than the same indicator as of December 31, 2022, informs the NBKR.
As of the end of 2023, the balance of monetary gold in the structure of the National Bank's international reserves amounted to 21.57 metric tons compared to 16.39 metric tons at the end of 2022. The balance of non-monetary gold and gold reserves in the NBKR amounted to 26.47 metric tons (at the end of 2022 – 28.02 metric tons).
In 2023, the regulator's purchase of gold on the domestic market of precious metals amounted to 20.72 metric tons (in 2022 – 26.99 metric tons). The sale of gold in 2023 amounted to 17.13 metric tons (in 2022 – 0.13 metric tons).
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan also conducted operations for the repurchase of refined gold bullion, the volume of which amounted to 0.03 metric tons.
In total, as of the end of February 2024, the total volume of gold in the assets of the National Bank amounted to 49.98 metric tons.
