Negotiations were held between working groups of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the implementation of Protocol No. 42 in the city of Gulisyon, Sughd region of Tajikistan, informs the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.
Protocol No. 42 of the heads of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was signed on September 25, 2022. As part of it, both countries agreed to preserve four border outposts and posts on each side.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of implementation of agreements to stabilize the situation in the border areas of the two countries, as well as coordination of joint actions in the field of protecting the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
The positive trend in the development of cooperation and interaction between the two countries in ensuring border security was noted, as well as the high level of bilateral dialogue achieved recently.
The meeting participants expressed confidence that a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries meets the long-term interests of the peoples of the two states and is a key factor in maintaining peace, stability and security in the region.
An exchange of views also took place on the implementation of the protocols of previous working meetings of the heads of border agencies. In this context, the parties confirmed their commitment to achieving progress in implementing the agreements reached.
The importance of further expansion and deepening of Kyrgyz-Tajik relations, timely and full implementation of the agreements reached, as well as increasing cooperation in the field of border security was emphasized.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a corresponding protocol.
