Central Asia interested in institutionalizing C5+1 format of cooperation with US

On September 3 in Bishkek, a meeting of the secretariat of the C5+1 format, which brings together the Central Asian countries and the United States of America, took place, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to the ministry, delegations from all the countries in the region participated in the event, along with the permanent co-chair from the United States, Caitlin Setola.

As a co-chair, Kyrgyzstan emphasized the need to strengthen the role of the secretariat and to develop concrete steps for implementing the roadmaps approved at previous meetings.

The participants discussed key issues of coordinating the work of the secretariat, improving the interaction of working groups, and implementing strategic projects in areas such as security, economy, energy, and environmental protection.

Delegates noted the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and further institutionalizing the C5+1 platform.

Particular attention was paid to further enhancing cooperation between the countries of the region and the United States within the C5+1 format.
