The Chiefs of the General Staff of Uzbekistan, the United States, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan discussed regional security issues and counterterrorism efforts in the capital of Uzbekistan, Gazeta.uz reports.

Following the negotiations at the "Uzbekistan" Palace of International Forums in Tashkent, a conference of the Chiefs of the General Staff of Central and South Asian countries took place, according to the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan.

Delegations from the Ministries of Defense of Uzbekistan, the United States, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan participated in the conference.

The conference was opened by the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, Bahodir Kurbanov, and the head of the United States Central Command, Michael K. Nagata.

During the conference, topics such as regional security and stability, counterterrorism efforts, and humanitarian assistance were discussed, as noted by the Ministry of Defense.
