The Tajik side, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, is considering the introduction of a visa regime for Turkish citizens visiting the country, stated the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Shohin Samadi, Avesta reports.
President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, overnight from April 5 to April 6, 2024, revoked the visa-free regime for Tajik citizens entering Turkey with ordinary passports. Now they are required to obtain a visa at diplomatic missions before traveling. The corresponding decree was published in the official gazette, Resmi Gazete. The reasons for the decision were not specified. Samadi noted that Turkey has not yet informed Tajikistan about this decision through diplomatic channels.
