Heads of intelligence services of three countries discussed security issues in Central Asia

The heads of the security services of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan - Kamchybek Tashiev, Saimumin Yatimov, and Abdusalom Azizov - extensively discussed the entire range of issues related to ensuring regional security, Khovar reports with reference to the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.

During the trilateral negotiations, the heads of the intelligence services exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation in such crucial areas as combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, smuggling, and other transboundary threats and challenges, the press service of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan informed.

The participants of the meeting reached agreements on accelerating the processes of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state borders and defined practical measures to address these issues based on the mutual interests of the parties.

As a result of the negotiations, specific assignments were given to the members of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission to coordinate the remaining sections of the border and to prepare and sign the relevant bilateral agreement.
