The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts and the interaction of the two countries on international platforms during negotiations in Moscow, TASS reports.
"The current issues of bilateral relations were discussed, including the schedule of upcoming contacts and interaction on international platforms," the statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website said, summarizing the results of the talks.
The Russian ministry also noted that the parties confirmed their "mutual intention to further strengthen Russian-Turkmen strategic partnership and develop multifaceted cooperation between Moscow and Ashgabat."
The negotiations took place on the sidelines of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian states in Moscow.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced at a briefing that the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian states would take place on December 5 in Moscow under the chairmanship of the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.
